In the Studio (February 15, 2018): Although Water Tiger’s approach to the Five Animal Frolics (Wu Qin Xi) is to play the exercises in a circle, we teach the details of each — like Crane Flying seen here — in linear play. |
Smith's Reef on Providenciales, Turks & Caicos (March 9, 2018): Playing around exposed coral on the beach, McElroy Laoshi keeps to his habit of playing a little T’ai Chi in Paradise. Here he is in Repulse the Monkey from Water Tiger's Medium-Frame Yang-Style 24-Posture Form. |
Smith's Reef on Providenciales, Turks & Caicos (March 9, 2018): In Ward-Off with the northern Caribbean beside him, McElroy Laoshi plays Water Tiger's Medium-Frame Yang-Style 24-Posture Form while vacationing in Paradise. |
T’ai Chi in the Park (June 2, 2018): Sans Laoshi Laurince McElroy, the morning's participants are playing Water Tiger's Ball Variations exercise. |
T’ai Chi in the Park (June 2, 2018): This morning marked the first time in Peppermint Park. The park is the third home for Water Tiger's T'ai Chi in the Park event over 21 years. From 1997 through the first half of 2000, we were in Drake Park (Des Moines, IA). We spent 2001 through 2017 in Patchogue's Shorefront Park. We'll see how long we're here. |
T’ai Chi in the Park (June 9, 2018): This Kodiak moment shows the grizzly bunch of players who joined us for the day's T'ai Chi in the Park in the Town of Brookhaven's Peppermint Park (Medford, NY USA). They, reportedly had a beary good time. Yep, we did a cutting from the Bear Frolics from our lineage's version of The Five Animal Frolics (Wu Qin Xi). Pictured is the group playing Bear Fighting. |
T’ai Chi in the Park (June 16, 2018): The morning’s small group of participants playing a Water Tiger and event favorite, T’ai Chi Flying. |
Sapodilla Bay on Providenciales, Turks & Caicos (August 22, 2018): McElroy Laoshi in Needle at Sea Bottom from the 24-Posture Form, reaching as low as he can go in the actual sea of the Northern Caribbean. |
Moved (October 21, 2018): We were greeted with a nice welcome from 4GK Martial Arts when we stepped into their main training area for the first time — and we responded. |
Moved (October 21, 2018): After Suffolk Aikikai let us know that they were closing their door at 2030 Route 112 in Medford, NY (USA), we found a new home with 4GK Martial Arts at 380 East Main Street in East Patchogue, NY (USA). |
In the Studio (September 7, 2018): We recently changed out the candle holders in our studio shrine and are digging the new look. |
In the Studio (October 28, 2018): Adjusting to spaces at 4GK Martial Arts requires — well — adjustments. In this case, a different way to set our shrine. |
